I posted a link a while ago to a presentation called 'Shift happens / Did you know' which was designed for teachers - to help them understand the future they need to prepare students for.
I just came across a video of Sir Ken Robinson presenting on this subject of creativity and education. The primary objective of the education system has been, in my opinion at least, to produce good workers. Numeracy and literacy are of course still key skills, but rather than conditioning kids to see and accept the world through the filters of today, wouldn't it be better to invest in creating creative thinkers? - people who can think outside the square and get us crazy humans out of some of the messes we've gotten ourselves into? Ken Robinson puts it so much more eloquently than me...
Watch Sir Robinson's presentation.
